Mr. Popo serves as an assistant to the guardian of the Earth. He resides at Kami's lookout. He attains the ability of instantaneous movement by the use of a magic carpet. One of Mr. Popo's first major roles in Dragon Ball is the act of training Goku. He teaches Goku about the ability to sense a persons energy along with other things. In Dragon Ball Z, Popo takes it upon himself to train the Z-Fighters in preparation for the arrival of the saiyans. He later helps out by showing Bulma Kami's old spaceship in which he traveled to Earth, assisting her in being able to travel to Namek in a more timely manner. In the Garlic Jr. Saga Popo spreads the sacred water throughout the Earth to cure everyone affected by the Black Water Mist. One of Mr. Popo's next major roles in Dragon Ball Z is when he introduces his idea to have Goten and Trunks perform the fusion dance. As far as Dragon Ball GT goes, Mr. Popo does not have much of a role, other than the fact that he is in charge of fixing the damage to Kami's lookout after Goku and Uub's destructive training.
